Melbourne Atopic Cohort Study

Allergic diseases (asthma, hay fever, eczema and food allergies) are a common cause of long term illnesses in Australian children.  We aim to determine what factors cause allergies, and what makes them change over time, which will help guide health policy and clinical practice.  We are currently conducting the 15-year follow-up of the Melbourne Atopic Cohort Family Study. This is the world's only longitudinal family follow-up of allergies in children and will assist in reducing the impact of these conditions making the findings internationally original and significant.
